ABOUT ME

Sean Cronen is an audio person from Austin, Texas. Originally from Houston, he moved to Minneapolis for 6 years where he studied jazz and saxophone under Kenni Holmen—an accomplished recording artist and member of Prince’s horn section The HornHeads. Over the past 18 years, he’s studied multiple instruments including the clarinet, bass, guitar, and piano.

At the University of Texas at Austin, he was part of the selective Sound Recording Technology program, where he learned the hard and soft skills of the audio production business under Gary Powell. Throughout his time in college, he collaborated with a number of students on film and reporting projects and was also selected as a Next Generation Radio fellow. During his final semester, he worked as an intern at Texas Monthly where he applied his professional skills for the first time.
